Our SUP Yoga sessions

Focusing on body awareness and being present in the moment our classes are a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga to build strength, flexibility and balance alongside pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation to relax the mind. No previous experience of paddleboarding or yoga is needed, this is a truly adaptable practice available to all.

What to wear
You can wear regular work out or yoga clothing to SUP yoga, something you are comfortable in and don't mind getting wet. Moisture wicking fabrics work well as do rash vests, board shorts or swimwear.
You may like to bring a warm layer to use during savasana.
Most people like to go barefoot for the classes but water shoes/socks with grip on the bottom are another option.
 
Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel as you are floating on water, there is always a chance of getting wet.

OUR SUP YOGA CLASS IS A GROUP SESSION WHICH TAKES PLACE ON OPEN WATER.
THE SESSION IS RUN BY A QUALIFIED SUP YOGA TEACHER

SUP Yoga sessions are run at the times and dates as detailed on the website (booking options).

SAFETY IN OPEN WATER

It is very important that participants understand, this is a body of open water and so comes with many risk elements.
As you will be practicing Yoga movements, you will not be required to wear a buoyancy aid, but you are required to be a competant swimmer..at some point you are likely to have a dip!

Our qualified SUP Yoga teacher is also BCAB Safety and Rescue Trained so you are in good hands.

ABILITY AND AGE LIMITS
Classes are mixed ability (so from complete beginners to advanced)
These sessions are for 18 years and over. If you have someone who would like to accompany you who is under 18, please contact us to discuss.
SUP Yoga and pregnancy - due to the risk of falling off the board this session is not suitable for pregnant ladies.

CLASS TIMES
The Ocean Walker Academy is a private venue and as such our gates will open up a max of 30mins prior to the class start time. We also close following the session.

EQUIPMENT
You will be provided with a Stand Up Paddleboard and anchor for the class.
If you have your own equipment you can bring this - please ensure this has been cleaned/rinsed to avoid cross contamination.

In the event that we need to postpone/move a class due to adverse weather conditions, we will contact you as soon as we can to re-arrange.

FOOD & DRINK
For this session you are permitted to bring your own sports bottle refreshment.
Usually food and drink is not permitted to be brought onto site, but during these session times our cafe will not be open. For the health and enjoyment of everyone, do not litter in or around our lake. Please ensure that any food items you consume that creates litter goes in the bins provided (bin in reception or in toilet block) or goes home with you.
You are not permitted to bring and/or consume alcohol or drugs at Ocean Walker Academy.

SPECTATORS 
Spectators are not permitted during this session.
As this is a meditative fitness session and the facility is not open to other sessions at this time, spectators are not allowed during your 1.5hrs. If you need someone with you, please contact prior to booking.

No children allowed lakeside during this session.
No dogs allowed lakeside during this session.
No picnics.

ISLANDS, TREES AND GENERAL AREAS
You are not permitted to climb onto the islands (except in an emergency).
Visitors are not permitted to pick plants.
Visitors must not throw grass, sticks, stones or any other item into the lake at any time – anyone caught throwing will be immediately removed from the site.
Visitors may not climb, hang from or carve any tree, rock or item at the venue.
Visitors are not permitted to lift or remove any display items from their position.

NO SMOKING
We are a no smoking/vaping venue, this includes the car park.

EVERYONE is required to abide by our venue rules this is for your safety and your enjoyment. If we feel that someone is not following our guidance during their visit, they will be asked to leave the venue. If this is a non-participant, the participant will be required to finish their session so that they can leave site.

BOOKINGS/CANCELLATIONS
All bookings to be made online.
You can book up to 24hrs in advance.

SINGLE SESSIONS
72hr cancellation policy on single session SUP Yoga classes.
Should you cancel your session within the 72 hours of your class time , you will be charged for the session and not issued a replacement session.

BLOCK BOOKINGS
No refund available.

No refunds are given for missed or cancelled sessions. All refunds will be given minus the payment processing fee.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot make last minute changes to your booking over the phone, if something comes up on the day or you are late for example.
You must arrive on time for your session - our gates will close once the session begins.
You can manage your bookings from the confirmation email you receive upon booking.
Missed slots are non-transferable.
You cannot transfer your booked slots into the following year.
We cannot transfer bookings for alternative courses.
Refunds for cancelled bookings are not automatic. They will be administered once a month, via the original payment method with the payment processing fee deducted.
